Hello dearies! Fall is the coziest season of all. It is so many things to enjoy, for yourself or your whole family. We know how hard it can be to wrap our heads around everything that happens in such a short window of time, so here are our best autumn ideas for you to start with.

The photos we’re sharing we found under our seasonal hashtag #thischarmingautumn, feel free to contribute! We love to see our hashtag being used.

COOK UP SOME MAGIC IN THE KITCHEN

Make your own apple butter, bake a pumpkin pie from scratch, and boil cinnamon/apple/orange peels on the stove to fill your home with their cozy scents. Invite guests for a harvest feast to welcome fall.

Dearest, lovely friends, Come join me in the garden for some spiced apple pumpkin butter on a warm scone! We shall dream about the golden (or shall I say gilded?) leaves that will soon encompass the trees, and relax knowing that the heat of summer is soon to pass! Oh how I have missed you all! My sincerest apologizes for such a delay in my posts and replies for I have recently taken a full time position at the mansion I love and am still trying to balance out my time for everything including baking, my family, and events. I cannot tell you how many times I have cried over how many of you have reached out to check on me, and I can assure you it means the absolute world to me and I am truly so, so grateful to call you friends. I have missed you dearly. Although I may not be able to post as frequently or reply as fast, I can assure you that I won’t be going anywhere and I will always stop in for delicious tea and good conversation as often as I can! Something that I believe is at the heart and essence of Victorian baking is the idea of using and harvesting seasonal fruit from orchards and gardens, cooking with what’s available around you! I picked these Braeburn apples from a neighbors tree who passed away and felt I would honor her by turning them into butter and passing it out to my neighboring friends! Something I love about baking and gardening is that anytime I’m doing either, I almost always get to socialize with whomever is in the kitchen or whoever I see walking outside while I’m planting. I must tell you that I am most excited for the upcoming autumn season, and cannot wait for that first frost where I sadly tell my final flowers goodbye, but rejoice in the fact that the harvest of apples and pumpkins is well on its way. My, my, perhaps it will soon be time for pumpkin pie? But for now, I refuse to wish my days away, but rather take comfort in the fact that I’m here in the first place. The orange flowers pictured are Black Eyed Susan vine from my trellis garden, and I must say it makes for quite a display! But most importantly, how have you all been? What are you most excited about? I can’t wait to hear from you! We will talk soon! 💕☺️ #applebutter

October 31st is frequently viewed as "The Witches New Year" and you'll not here a peep of contention out of me on that front. I cannot help feeling, though, that the beginning of autumn (Mabon / Fall Equinox) is a sort of new year unto itself as well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As such, I like to use this point in the calendar to take a bracingly honest look at my life, assess what is and isn't currently working for me, habits I may need to change or drop, which plans worked and which ones fizzled, and how I'm doing in myriad other areas of my existence. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Once I've determined (or further established) these points, I set to work taking the steps needed to make changes, get rid of negatives or turn them into positives (where realistically possible), and wave goodbye to as many undesirable things as I can. For me, this process typically involves engaging in some banishing spell work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the spirit of Mabon (which falls on Sept. 23rd this year) and of entering fall with as little unwanted baggage and strife from past seasons as possible, this month my guest post for TheWitchofLupineHollow.com (@lupinehollow) details an easy, budget-friendly banishing spell involving apple magick (for even more autumnal energy). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Whether you feel/see the beginning of fall as a personal new year of sorts, just need to banish something from your life, or want to start the season on an extra smooth footing, this enjoyable fall time spell may help you to do just that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With all of my autumn adoring heart, sweet friends, I wish you a bountiful, blessed, and truly beautiful Mabon season (or Ostara, for those south of the equator). I can hardly wait to celebrate it here with all of you! 🍎🍁♥️🍁🍎 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

EMBRACE SWEATER WEATHER

Fall is a wonderful time to have fun with fashion; mixing patterns and using your favorite accessorizes like scarves, berets, and even capes.

DECORATE

Get your home in a cozy mood with candles, fairy lights, and glowing pumpkins. Get crafty and make your own decor or use natural items you can find in your own garden.

GET IN THE MOOD

Whether you’re into scary or not-so-scary fall flicks; make sure you don’t forget to watch your favorite feel good fall movies or binge watch your favorite autumn series. It definitely helps you get in the mood especially if where you live, the weather isn’t quite autumn enough.

FALL FOLIAGE

Never miss a chance to watch the leaves float down from the trees, throw them in the air, and a press a few in your favorite book. The beauty only lasts so long and changes constantly, every day can be a new chance to see a different colorful tree.

PUMPKIN EVERYTHING

So many pumpkin treats, so little time! You can only find pumpkin spice and all things nice this time of year!

VISIT A LOCAL CEMETERY

Pay your respects to those who have gone before you, imagine the stories of their lives.

CARVE A JACK-O’-LANTERN

Get creative and make your own glowing creation.

SPEND A DAY AT THE FARM

Have a good ol’ fashioned time at a farm; apple pickin’, pumpkin pickin’, take a hay ride or get lost in a corn maze and don’t forget the apple cider donuts!

TAKE A DAY TRIP

Plan a scenic drive to a historic area to see the colors and imagine what it’s like to live in a real Stars Hollow, Hallmark Movie town. (Or Sleepy Hollow or Salem if you prefer!)

GARDENING

Decorate your porch with mums and pumpkins. Start an indoor garden and plant flower bulbs for a lovely surprise come spring.

FALL HYGGE

Get cozy indoors with soft blankets and a nice book to read on a rainy day.

SPEND TIME OUTDOORS

Plan a campfire with smore’s and ghost stories or pack an autumn picnic, woodland walks at your local forest and see the colors, or even take a walk around your neighborhood to see who has the best jack o’ lantern.

GET UNPLUGGED

Take some time to go screen free and away from social media. Have a candlelit dinner or send out hand written letters to a faraway friend.

Well, dear friends, what did you think of our fall bucket list? Do you have any autumn ideas that weren’t here? Wishing you all the Charming Autumn and Halloween-time, wherever you are!
