A Wonderland-worthy introduction of our trio of tea party treats.

“Alice’s Tea Sandwiches.”

For the White Rabbit’s sake, let’s save time and focus on baking just two treats for this tea party! Our savory addition is a whimsical twist on the classic tea sandwich—“Alice’s Tea Sandwiches.” Instead of plain toast bread with the corners cut off, we’ve chosen buttery croissants for a richer, more indulgent bite. The deli section offers a variety of delicious fillings, and we’ve opted for a classic: chicken and cranberry, topped with crisp cucumber for tradition’s sake.

“Mad Hatter Macaroons”

Now, on to the sweets! First, we have the “Mad Hatter Macaroons,” a nostalgic childhood favorite. Some call them “haystacks” or “coconut tops,” but whatever the name, their charm lies in their simplicity. Enjoy them plain, or add a topping for an extra touch of madness.

“Queen of Hearts Linzer Cookies.”

The showstopper of our three-tiered tea stand is the “Queen of Hearts Linzer Cookies.” Delicately dusted with confectioners’ sugar and featuring a vibrant red heart in the center, these regal treats are sure to keep the Queen in good spirits.

Now that we’ve met the stars of our tea party, there’s no time to waste—the White Rabbit is already setting the table. Let’s bake!

Directions:

Part 1: Turn the oven to 350 F. Whisk Egg and Sugar.

Part 2: Melt Butter, and add Coconut Flakes, Salt, and Almond Extract (Optional)

Part 3: Combine the Butter mixture with the Egg and Sugar mixture.

Shape rounded tablespoon-sized balls or topps.
Place them on a baking tray and bake for about 10 minutes. They should be a little golden on the top.

If you want topping, simply melt some chocolate and swirl it over the macaroons once they have cooled down. They are delicious as is, but you can be as creative as you want in this step and go a little mad. “Have I gone mad? I’m afraid so, but let me tell you, the best people usually are.”
ENJOY!

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees

In a large bowl, mix the softened butter, salt, icing sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla until a creamy texture is achieved.

Add the flour gradually. Stir until the dough comes together.

Shape the dough into a ball that you cut in half.

Roll one half of the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/3 of an inch thickness.

Cut out the cookies with your desired shape. For each cookie, you need 2 shapes. One top and one bottom. However, remember that the top should have a hole cut out in the middle. (circular or heart-shaped)

Bake them for about 14 minutes, and then check them. They might need one or two minutes more depending on your oven (and the size of the cookies). They should be light golden brown when they are done.

Let the cookies cool down before assembling them, or else the jam filling might be runny.

Place a click of jam in the center of the base cookie. You don’t have to spread it out to the corners, as they will be spread out when you place the cut-out cookie on top.

Our tip for a royal impression is to lightly powder the cakes with icing sugar just before serving.

ENJOY!
