Do you ever feel like a BIG FISH trapped in a small pond? Perhaps the reason for your growth is that you’re intended for larger things.
When we first saw Tim Burton‘s southern fantasy romance, we were captivated by “Big Fish.” Ever since we have been inspired by this under-rated film not only for it’s charming characters but for the message behind it. It brings to mind so many questions and life lessons to live by:
“There’s a time when a man needs to fight, and a time when he needs to accept that his destiny is lost… the ship has sailed and only a fool would continue. Truth is… I’ve always been a fool.”
Most people can relate to this, sometimes it’s just when you want to give up that and everyone thinks you are making a mistake is exactly when you need to use that determination and keep chasing your dreams!
“A man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way he becomes immortal.”
We are indeed story tellers and hope that the tales we tell will live on after us.
“They say when you meet the love of your life, time stops, and that’s true. What they don’t tell you is that when it starts again, it moves extra fast to catch up. “
Absolutely, true that ever since we met time seems to fly and it sometimes feels so hard to catch up, but it’s an adventure of a lifetime we wouldn’t have any other way!
“I was thinking about death and all. About seeing how you’re gonna die. I mean, on one hand, if dying was all you thought about, it could kind of screw you up. But it could kind of help you, couldn’t it? Because you’d know that everything else you can survive.”
Would you choose to look into the witch’s glass eye and see how you’re gonna die or not? If you knew, how would you live your life? Would you dream, love, and live bigger? Would you live life in full bloom?
In April, we got the chance to have one of our old-fashioned dreams come true when we went to Laurel Ridge Farm in Litchfield, Connecticut. In the 1940s, Remy and Virginia Morosani, started planted the daffodil bulbs on a part of the land that wasn’t good for farming.
Each year they worked hard to expand them and as the daffodils expanded so did the crowds of people! Mr. & Mrs. Morosani planted a legacy of daffodils and now their tall tale lives on and has become immortal through the flowers.
Now, folks come from miles around to take in the yellow covered fields located next to a charming little lake. Which coincidentally, is exactly why when we first heard of it knew we needed to make the drive from New York to experience a real life “Big Fish” moment. We hope you enjoy these photos inspired by the true love of Edward Bloom & Sandra Templeton, a girl who’s favorite flowers are daffodils.
Bye For Now,

P.S. Thanks to our friend Tayler who drove from CA to NY in her epic micro camper conversion to visit us at the cottage and was able to take these photos on our adventure in search of the real life Stars Hollow, Connecticut!
