1. Lace Curtains

The first way we are freshening up the cottage is with lace curtains. We thrifted these recently and we’re so glad the weather warmed up enough that we could wash them by hand and hang them out to dry next to the snowdrops who are greeting the sunshine as well.

2. Linen Bedding

For the first time, we decided to try linen bedding. We wanted something more natural and breathable since we realized that we spend as much as 1/3 of our whole life on sheets. We are very happy with the result and quality of our sleep and can highly recommend it if you get a chance to get a bedroom set in linen.

3. Embroidered Linens

We would be fibbing if we didn’t admit that we, and the cottage, love embroidered linens. It is always something that our eyes go right towards when we are out thrifting for vintage second hand.
We finally thrifted enough spring linens to fit the cottage and they all happened to be in shades of blue which match the blossoms outside, so look for what fancy your eyes and perhaps the colors of what’s growing outside your windows.

4. Old Books and Paper

We brought out a few old books from our cottage library that fit the storybook theme that we decided to use as inspiration. We love that all the vintage covers bring together a wonderful color palette of blues and greens, so use whatever colors make you happy. As an extra addition to the books, we had recently found a vintage “Thumper” figurine from the 1940s that went well with our storybook theme.

5. Straw Hats

We have always fancied the idea to hang some straw hats on wooden coat pegs on a wall. Not only are they handy when the perfect weather calls for some quality time outside, but it also looks vintage in a way that instantly draws our imagination to the primitive country style ala “Anne of Green Gables”.

6. Botanical Gardening Art

Since most Cottagecore lovers have an affection for floral and botanical prints, we’ve found a lovely spot for some of ours, in our garden-themed bathroom. It let our thoughts wander towards a relaxing greenhouse where you are surrounded by peace and nature.

7. Flowers

We place a lot of flower decor in our kitchen where we set up some flower baskets that fit perfectly for them. Dried flowers are a perfect addition to put in your vases if you can’t keep up to pick fresh ones.

8. Ceramics

Since our kitchen (and cottage) is very small, we like to use our pretty ceramics as decorations as well as for their intentional use. Vintage salt and pepper shakers are a fun way to add some personality that fits you since they can come in all themes and shapes. We especially like the woodland critter theme as we see them from our kitchen window.

9. Baskets

Baskets might be one of the most quintessential cottagecore decors. Not only are they practical but very nice as centerpieces too.

10. Kitchenwares

This one might at a first glance not seem like a typical decor, and by saying “kitchenwares” we don’t mean the modern electrical kitchen gadges but items that give the illusion of simpler times, like an old flour sifter or wooden spoons. These can be very easy to find at any second-hand store and give a great impression of cottagecore.
